Two different athletes two different journeys. Everyone is different in their approach but there are common threads that bonds athletes in their pursuit of striving to achieve their goals.
All about the journey!
In endurance sports everyone has a journey that they embark on. In running some are just looking to keep fit others want to represent their country and possibly even win some prize money along the way.
No matter what your goals are everyone has to start somewhere.
There is always a story of how it begins. It could be because your son starts running and you want to join in or maybe because you get injured and you just happen to pick up the sport by accident. Now with the gyms closed and everyone realising how your health is so important during the current climate you might be thinking of trying running.

Why running or endurance sports?
There really is something about being in control over your own destiny. Endurance sports offers this in how the more work you put in generally the greater reward. Simple. Train smart and you are likely to achieve the fitness goals that you set for yourself.
It's not easy getting out the door and now we must do it alone. That's why having a coach or someone to encourage you is so important.
Do I need a coach?
Not everyone needs a coach to improve their fitness. I have been training for 38 years and I have developed strategies to keep me motivated and haven't had a coach for over 25 years. Having a coach will make getting and keeping fit easier for most people. They will hold you accountable and give a structured program that progressively challenges you.
We really don't know when things will return to normal as far as gyms and group activities will occur again but now more than ever it might be time to find the right coach to help you on your journey. Good luck!
